23. Assael recusou-se a deixar de perseguir Abner. Então Abner matou-o cravando-lhe na barriga a ponta da lança que lhe saiu pelas costas. Assael caiu morto ali mesmo. E todos os que chegavam ao sítio onde ele tinha caído morto, paravam a pensar.
