17. Quando o faraó deixou sair o povo israelita, Deus não os levou pelo caminho que atravessa a terra dos filisteus, apesar de ser o mais curto, porque Deus pensou que os israelitas não iriam lutar, quando tivessem de o fazer, e que prefeririam voltar para o Egipto.
