3. Às outras duas tribos e meia, já Moisés lhes tinha dado a sua parte do lado oriental do Jordão. É que os descendentes de José formavam duas tribos, Manassés e Efraim. Porém, aos levitas, não lhes atribuiu qualquer parte, mas apenas cidades para habitarem e os seus campos de pastagens para os animais e rebanhos.
