1. Os chefes de família dos levitas foram a Silo, na terra de Canaã, para falarem com o sacerdote Eleazar, com Josué, filho de Nun, e com os chefes de família das outras tribos de Israel. Disseram-lhes o seguinte: "O Senhor, por meio de Moisés, ordenou que nos fossem dadas cidades onde habitássemos e campos de pastagens para os nossos rebanhos."
