8. Os israelitas fizeram como Josué lhes mandou: foram ao meio do rio e tiraram as doze pedras, uma por cada tribo de Israel, tal como Deus tinha ordenado a Josué. Em seguida, levaram-nas para o sítio onde iam acampar e lá as colocaram.
