17. Saul a zis lui David: Iată, îţi voi da de nevastă pe fiica mea cea mai mare Merab: numai să-mi slujeşti cu vitejie, şi să porţi războaiele Domnului. Dar Saul îşi zicea: Nu vreau să-mi pun mâna mea pe el, ci mâna Filistenilor să fie asupra lui.
