4. Dacă ne vom gândi să intrăm în cetate, în cetate este foamete, şi vom muri; şi dacă vom sta aici, de asemenea vom muri. Haidem dar să ne aruncăm în tabăra Sirienilor; dacă ne vor lăsa cu viaţă, vom trăi, iar dacă ne vor omorî, vom muri.
