1. Atunci, luând Samuel vasul cel cu untdelemn, a turnat pe capul lui Saul şi l-a sărutat, zicând: ,,Iată Domnul te unge pe tine cârmuitor al moştenirii Sale; vei domni peste poporul Domnului şi-l vei izbăvi din mâna vrăjmaşilor celor dimprejurul lor. Iată care-ţi va fi semnul că Domnul te-a uns rege peste moştenirea Sa:
