16. Şi a zis omul acela către Eli: ,,Eu vin din tabără. Chiar astăzi am fugit de pe câmpul de luptă. Iar Eli a zis: ,,Ce s-a întâmplat, fiul meu? Vestitorul însă a răspuns şi a zis: ,,Israeliţii au fugit din faţa Filistenilor şi s-a făcut în popor ucidere mare; amândoi fiii tăi, Ofni şi Finees, au murit şi chivotul lui Dumnezeu a fost luat.
