3. Căci în anul al optulea al domniei lui, fiind încă tânăr, a început să caute pe Dumnezeul lui David, strămoşul său, iar în anul al doisprezecelea a început să cureţe Iuda şi Ierusalimul de locurile înalte, de Aşere, de idolii ciopliţi şi de idolii turnaţi.
