21. Iar Macabeu, văzând venirea oştirii şi gătirea armelor cea de multe feluri şi sălbăticiunea elefanţilor, a întins mâinile spre cer şi s-a rugat Domnului şi păzitorului Celui care face minuni, cunoscând că nu în arme este biruinţa, ci, precum El Însuşi judecă, dă celor vrednici biruinţă.
