24. După ce fiii lui Israel au ucis pe toţi bărbaţii din Ai, în câmpia dinspre pustie şi dealurile unde aceştia îi urmăriseră, şi după ce aceştia au căzut toţi până la unul sub ascuţişul sabiei, Israeliţii s-au întors cu toţii asupra cetăţii Ai şi au lovit-o cu ascuţişul sabiei.
