17. De acolo a trimis Israel Ia regele Edomului soli să-i spună: ,,Lasă-mă să trec prin tara ta. Dar regele Edomului n-a voit să audă. Şi a trimis el şi la regele Moabului, dar nici acela n-a îngăduit. De aceea Israel a rămas la Cadeş.
