24. Bucătarul a dat spata şi ce era pe ea şi a pus-o înaintea lui Saul. Şi Samuel a zis: "Iată ce a fost păstrat, pune-o înainte şi mănâncă, fiindcă pentru tine s-a păstrat când am poftit poporul." Astfel Saul a mâncat cu Samuel în ziua aceea.
