21. După plecarea lor, Ahimaaţ şi Ionatan au ieşit din fîntînă, şi s-au dus să dea de ştire împăratului David. Au zis lui David: ,Sculaţi-vă şi grăbiţi-vă de treceţi apa, căci Ahitofel a plănuit cutare şi cutare lucru împotriva voastră.`
