13. Gad s-a dus la David, şi i-a făcut cunoscut lucrul acesta, zicînd: „Vrei şapte ani de foamete în ţara ta, sau să fugi trei luni dinaintea vrăjmaşilor tăi, cari te vor urmări, sau să bîntuie ciuma trei zile în ţară? Acum alege, şi vezi ce trebuie să răspund Celui ce mă trimete.”
