20. În schimb, Irod îl respecta pe Ioan, considerându-l un om drept și sfânt. De aceea, îl proteja de ura Irodiadei. Deseori cu bucurie îl asculta pe Ioan și era încântat de nenumăratele lucruri pe care i le povestea.
