16. După aceea, Irod, înțelegând că a fost înșelat de magi, s-a înfuriat peste măsură și a dat poruncă să fie uciși toți copiii de sex masculin din Betleeem și din satele învecinate de la doi ani în jos conform cu timpul indicat de magi de la apariția astrului luminos pe cer.
