11. Då sade Juda till sin sonhustru Tamar: "Stanna såsom änka i din faders hus, till dess min son Sela bliver fullvuxen." Han fruktade nämligen att annars också denne skulle dö, likasom hans bröder. Så gick Tamar bort och stannade i sin faders hus.
