24. De svarade Josua och sade: "Det hade blivit berättat för dina tjänare huru HERREN, din Gud, hade tillsagt sin tjänare Mose att han ville giva eder hela detta land och förgöra alla landets inbyggare för eder; därför fruktade vi storligen för våra liv, när I kommen, och så gjorde vi detta.
