1. Bwana ndiye niliyemkimbilia. Mbona mnaiambia nafsi yangu, Kimbia kama ndege mlimani kwenu?
  
2. Maana, tazama, wasio haki wanaupinda uta, Wanaitia mishale yao katika upote, Ili kuwapiga gizani wanyofu wa moyo.
  
3. Kama misingi ikiharibika, Mwenye haki atafanya nini?
  
4. Bwana yu katika hekalu lake takatifu. Bwana ambaye kiti chake kiko mbinguni, Macho yake yanaangalia; Kope zake zinawajaribu wanadamu.
  
5. Bwana humjaribu mwenye haki; Bali nafsi yake humchukia asiye haki, Na mwenye kupenda udhalimu.
  
6. Awanyeshee wasio haki mitego, Moto na kiberiti na upepo wa hari, Na viwe fungu la kikombe chao.
  
7. Kwa kuwa Bwana ndiye mwenye haki, Apenda matendo ya haki, Wanyofu wa moyo watamwona uso wake.
