20. யெரொபெயாம் திரும்பிவந்தான் என்று இஸ்ரவேலருக்கெல்லாம் கேள்வியானபோது, அவனைச் சபையினிடத்தில் அழைத்தனுப்பி, அவனைச் சமஸ்த இஸ்ரவேலின்மேலும் ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்; யூதாகோத்திரமேயன்றி வேறொருவரும் தாவீதின் வம்சத்தைப் பின்பற்றவில்லை.
