17. இஸ்ரவேலர் ஏதோமின் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்கு ஸ்தானாதிபதிகளை அனுப்பி: நாங்கள் உன் தேசத்துவழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகட்டும் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னார்கள். அதற்கு ஏதோமின் ராஜா செவிகொடுக்கவில்லை; அப்படியே மோவாபின் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்கும் அனுப்பினார்கள்; அவனும் சம்மதிக்கவில்லை. ஆதலால் இஸ்ரவேலர் காதேசிலே தரித்திருந்து,
