49. அப்படியே சகல ஜனங்களும் அவரவர் ஒவ்வொரு கொம்பை வெட்டி, அபிமெலேக்குக்குப் பின்சென்று, அவைகளை அந்த அரணுக்கு அருகே போட்டு, அக்கினி கொளுத்தி அந்த அரணைச் சுட்டுப்போட்டார்கள்; அதினால் புருஷரும் ஸ்திரீகளும் ஏறக்குறைய ஆயிரம்பேராகிய சீகேம் துருக்கத்து மனுஷர் எல்லாரும் செத்தார்கள்.
