21. และเอลียาห์ก็เข้ามาใกล้ประชาชนทั้งปวงกล่าวว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายจะขยักขย่อนอยู่ระหว่างสองฝ่ายนี้นานสักเท่าใด ถ้าพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าจงติดตามพระองค์ แต่ถ้าพระบาอัลเป็น ก็จงตามท่านไปเถิด" และประชาชนไม่ตอบท่านสักคำเดียว
