42. กษัตริย์ก็ทรงใช้ให้เรียกชิเมอีมาเฝ้าและตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราได้ให้ท่านปฏิญาณในพระนามของพระเยโฮวาห์มิใช่หรือ และได้ตักเตือนท่านแล้วว่า `ท่านจงรู้เป็นแน่ว่า ในวันที่ท่านออกไป ไม่ว่าไปที่ใดๆ ท่านจะต้องตาย' และท่านก็ได้ตอบเราว่า `คำตรัสที่ข้าพระองค์ได้ยินนั้นก็ดีแล้ว'
