24. คนครัวจึงนำเอาส่วนขาและส่วนบนนั้นมาวางไว้ที่ข้างหน้าซาอูล และซามูเอลกล่าวว่า "ดูเถิด สิ่งที่ได้เก็บไว้ก็วางอยู่ต่อหน้าท่าน จงรับประทานเถิด เพราะว่าเก็บไว้ให้แก่ท่านจนถึงชั่วโมงที่กำหนดไว้ ตั้งแต่ฉันกล่าวว่า `ฉันได้เชิญประชาชนมาแล้ว'" ซาอูลจึงรับประทานกับซามูเอลในวันนั้น
