9. ท่านได้ค้นหาอาหัสยาห์ และพระองค์ก็ถูกจับ (เมื่อซ่อนพระองค์อยู่ในสะมาเรีย) และเขาพาพระองค์มาหาเยฮู และประหารชีวิตพระองค์เสีย เขาทั้งหลายก็ฝังพระศพไว้ เพราะเขาทั้งหลายกล่าวว่า "พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าหลานเธอของเยโฮชาฟัท ผู้แสวงหาพระเยโฮวาห์ด้วยสิ้นสุดพระทัยของพระองค์" และราชวงศ์ของอาหัสยาห์ไม่มีผู้ใดสามารถปกครองราชอาณาจักรได้
