17. กษัตริย์เศเดคียาห์ใช้ให้คนไปเอาตัวท่านออกมา กษัตริย์ได้สอบถามท่านเป็นความลับที่ในพระราชวังว่า "มีพระวจนะอันใดมาจากพระเยโฮวาห์บ้างหรือ" เยเรมีย์ทูลว่า "มีพ่ะย่ะค่ะ" แล้วท่านทูลอีกว่า "พระองค์จะถูกมอบไว้ในมือของกษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน"
