21. กษัตริย์เศเดคียาห์จึงมีรับสั่งให้เขามอบเยเรมีย์ไว้ที่บริเวณทหารรักษาพระองค์ และเขาให้ขนมปังแก่ท่านวันละก้อนจากถนนช่างทำขนมจนขนมปังในกรุงนั้นหมด เยเรมีย์จึงค้างอยู่ในบริเวณทหารรักษาพระองค์อย่างนั้น
