3. และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับซาตานว่า "เจ้าได้ไตร่ตรองดูโยบผู้รับใช้ของเราหรือไม่ว่า บนแผ่นดินโลกไม่มีใครเหมือนเขา เป็นคนดีรอบคอบและเที่ยงธรรม เกรงกลัวพระเจ้าและหันเสียจากความชั่วร้าย เขายังยึดมั่นในความซื่อสัตย์ของเขาอยู่ ถึงแม้เจ้าชวนเราให้ต่อสู้กับเขา เพื่อทำลายเขาโดยไม่มีเหตุ"
