5. ชาวกิเลอาดก็เข้ายึดท่าข้ามแม่น้ำจอร์แดนไว้ไม่ให้คนเอฟราอิมข้าม เมื่อคนเอฟราอิมที่หลบหนีคนใดมาบอกว่า "ขอให้ข้ามไปทีเถิด" คนกิเลอาดจะถามเขาว่า "เจ้าเป็นคนเอฟราอิมหรือ" เมื่อเขาตอบว่า "เปล่า"
