3. 耶和華在古時（“在古時”或譯：“從遠處”）曾向以色列（“以色列”按照《馬索拉抄本》應作“我”，現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）顯現，說：“我以永遠的愛愛你，因此，我對你的慈愛延續不息（“我對你的慈愛延續不息”或譯：“我要以慈愛吸引你”）。
