1. Kumongameli; ngeyehobe elithe cwaka phakathi kwabakude. EkaDavide. Eliligugu. Ukubanjwa kwakhe ngamaFilisti eGati. Ndibabale, Thixo, ngokuba abantu bendizonda; Bandixinile, besilwa yonke imini;
  
2. Abandilalelayo bandizonda yonke imini, Ngokuba baninzi abalwa nam beziphakamisile.
  
3. Mhlana ndinxunguphalayo mna, Ndokholosa ngawe.
  
4. Ndiya kulidumisa ngoThixo ilizwi lakhe, Ndikholose ngoThixo, ndingoyiki; Inokundenza ntoni na inyama?
  
5. Yonke imini bayawaphambanisa amazwi am; Zingam zonke iingcinga zabo zobubi.
  
6. Baqukene, babonisele, Bona bagcine izithende zam, Ngokokuba belinde umphefumlo wam.
  
7. Bengamatshinga nje, bosinda na? Zihlise ngomsindo izizwe, Thixo.
  
8. Ukuphalaphala kwam ukubhalile wena; Yitha iinyembezi zam entsubeni yakho; Azisencwadini yakho na?
  
9. Ziya kubuya umva ke iintshaba zam, mhlana ndibizayo; Ndiyakwazi oku, ukuba uThixo unam.
  
10. Ndilidumisa ngoThixo ilizwi, Ndilidumisa ngoYehova ilizwi.
  
11. Ndikholose ngoThixo, ndingoyiki; Unokundenza ntoni na umntu?
  
12. Ziphezu kwam, Thixo, izibhambathiso zakho; Ndiya kuyizalisa kuwe imibingelelo yombulelo.
  
13. Ngokuba uwuhlangule ekufeni umphefumlo wam, Iinyawo zam ekukhubekeni, Ukuba ndihambe phambi koThixo Ekukhanyeni kobomi.
