1. Kumongameli. Eyokuqiqa: ekaDavide: oko uDowegi umEdom waya waxelela uSawule, wathi kuye, UDavide ungene endlwini ka-Ahimeleki. Uqhayiselani na ngobubi, wena gorha? Inceba kaThixo ikho imihla yonke.
  
2. Ulwimi lwakho lucinga ukweyelisela, Njengesitshetshe sokuguya iindevu esiloliweyo, wena mkhohlisi.
  
3. Uthanda okubi kunokulungileyo; Ubuxoki, kunokuthetha ubulungisa. (Phakamisani.)
  
4. Uthanda onke amazwi aginyayo, Lulwimindini lukhohlisayo.
  
5. Naye uThixo uya kukudiliza kuphele; Uva kukuxwila, akuncothule ententeni, Akudonyule ezweni labaphilileyo. (Phakamisani.)
  
6. Obona amalungisa, oyike, Amhleke, athi,
  
7. Nanko umfo ongamenzanga igwiba lakhe uThixo, Owakholosa ngobuninzi bobutyebi bakhe, Waba nengcwangu ekweyeliseleni kwakhe.
  
8. Ke mna ndinjengomnquma oluhlaza endlwini kaThixo; Ndikholose ngenceba kaThixo ngonaphakade kanaphakade.
  
9. Ndiya kubulela kuwe ngonaphakade, kuba ukwenzile oku; Ndiya kuthemba igama lakho, ngokuba lilungile, phambi kwabenceba bakho.
