1. Umhobe ka-Asafu. UThixo umi ebandleni likaThixo, Ugweba phakathi koothixo; uthi,
  
2. Kunini na nigweba ngobugqwetha, Nibanonelela abangendawo? (Phakamisani.)
  
3. Thethani ityala losweleyo nelenkedama, Gwebelani olusizana nolihlwempu.
  
4. Sizani osweleyo nolihlwempu, Bahlanguleni esandleni sabangendawo.
  
5. Abazi, abaqondi, Bahamba-hamba emnyameni; Ziyashukuma zonke iziseko zehlabathi.
  
6. Ndithe mna, Ningoothixo, Ningoonyana bOsenyangweni nonke niphela.
  
7. Noko niya kufa njengomntu, Niwe njengomnye kubathetheli.
  
8. KhawusukÂ’ ume, Thixo, gweba ehlabathini; Ngokuba uya kuzidla ilifa wena zonke iintlanga.
